Dave shares his unique story of walking through the valley, a storyline that arches from beginning to end. Along the way are situational observations, fantastic Biblical insight, details of his past, and Growth Questions at the end of each chapter to discover where you are on the journey and to provide help. Woven together in such a personal way, you feel as though you just sat down with a friend for coffee and walked away encouraged, knowing exactly what you need to do.
There is an instant connection with Dave’s vulnerability, throughout the book, that allows you to process your own valleys with fresh eyes. I found myself nodding in agreement at certain points and thinking to myself, “I wish I would have done that” in others.

The Psalmist notes that though he walks through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, he will fear no evil. The word for “shadow of death” can also be translated as darkness, as gloom. Ultimately death is the greatest darkness, the greatest gloom.
